The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 22-09-2019.

Post by asbibby »

:D Well today started very wet, after a scorching day yesterday but in the end it was not to bad, a least the rain held off for most of the day.
I was joined by Colin, Jonathan, Len, and Clive, after a brew Len and Jonathan went to do the usual fire alarm call point checks in The Trackside and BBS concourse, the tests proved good and the results recorded. :)

It was then decided to change all the Christmas lights from 20W filament bulbs to 2W LED plastic coloured bulbs which had been purchased a few months ago, this will reduce the ELR electricity bill.
The Christmas lights were changed for Bury Bolton Street Station, Heywood Station, Ramsbottom Station and Rawtenstall Station.
Once all the old bulbs and coloured plastic covers had been removed we fitted the plastic 2W LED bulbs, red, blue, green and orange, a test lead was made and all the lights tested to ensure they were all lit.
Approximately around approximately 550 bulbs were changed.

Lunch was taken outside of our workshop with some swiss roll brought in by Colin, it was then back to the LED light conversion of the Christmas lights. :D

The Christmas lights were all packed away in their respective containers ready for installing at the main train stations in the next few weeks ready for the The Santa Specials. 8)

Back next week for more electrical moments.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
