The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 25-08-2019.

:D What a gorgeous day it was today, high temperatures in twenties mixed with the Southern engines, four day extravaganza, with City of Wells and Braunton as well as Onslaught the Souther diesel engine.

First task of the day was to test the fire alarm call points in The Trackside and Bury Bolton Street Station concourse, the tests proved positive and the results recorded.

A swift brew was taken along with a multitude of cakes and tea bags which had been brought in by Clive, Colin and Len plus Snowballs supplied by Sue. MMmmm MMmmm. :)

I had purchased another twenty, five foot LED tubes for the Bury Standard 4 Group which Clive had kindly negotiated a good price and delivered to us on Sunday.
It was then off down to the shed to carry on with the light refurbishment program, we managed to remove one double fitting which was high up in the roof and replace it with a refurbished light unit, we lowering the new unit to give more light over the working bench area.

Jonathan, Colin and myself then went off for an early lunch and a quick wash after handling the extremely dusty units we were taking down and cleaning.

Len and Clive meanwhile started to convert the wiring and fit LED tubes to the pit lights, they managed to do four units before breaking for lunch. 8)

After lunch and more cakes were woofed to give us a bit more strength, before heading off back to the BS4G workshop to clean, rewire and fit LED tubes to the three light fittings upstairs in the storeroom mezzanine floor, two doubles and one single light fitting were completed. An old rusty double five foot light unit was taken down and scrapped. :)

It was then back down stairs to change two double wall mounted light units, these were cleaned, rewired and fitted with LED tubes, all the lights were tested and proved satisfactory.

Two more pit lights which were accessible were cleaned rewired and fitted with LED tubes, this leaves just four more pit lights to change as and when we can gain access to them.

It was then back to our workshop to have a final brew and some more sustenance in the way of cake.

We shall be back next Sunday, all switched on?
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
