:) Today the electrical volunteers consisted of Jonathan, Colin, Clive, Len and myself on the penultimate day of the very successful Santa specials on the ELR.

A quick brew was had to warm us all up on a damp and wet morning. :o

No electrical faults had been reported to us so three of us walked up to Buckley Wells works to recover some parts of a Smiths speedo from 80097. WE did some measurements and looked at the routing which we could take to complete the wiring from the generator/regulator to the back of the speedo head.
Drawings will be consulted to see if we can use the original routing, using metal conduit and flexible conduit.

Allan Schofield Snr. and other volunteers of the BS4G were working on preparing the engine 80097 for a FTR test later on in the day. :D

The parts of the speedo we required were found and brought back to our workshop in BBS Station, we assembled the connectors together and spun the generator to ensure that a voltage was being generated and the Smiths speedo head moving coil meter needle moved. 8)

This will all be connected together next Sunday and calibrated using one of Clive's oscilloscopes.

Lunch was then taken with a brew and some leftover Holly Lane chocolate covered rolls. :)

No faults had been passed to us so we had an early dart.

A merry Christmas to everyone and don't get too elephants trunk!!!
