The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 25-11-2018.

Post by asbibby »

:D A full compliment of Sunday electrical volunteers turned up today, Len, Clive, Jonathan, Colin, John and myself on a cold but dry day. 8)

After a swift brew we extracted our mobile tower scaffold from the beer cellar after moving umpteen beer barrels out from in front of the incoming electrical supply board and the electrical distribution cabinet.
We have asked that this area be kept clear of beer barrels for safety reasons, but it seems we are ignored, even though we have posted notices to that effect, a letter is deemed to be the next course of action if it does not cease. :x

With the scaffold dried off after being shoved at the back of the cellar where it is PWT, we swapped two of the lights on platform two at Bury Bolton Street Station, we now have three fluorescent fittings in a row as requested.

Lunch was then taken with loads of cakes by John, Colin, Len and Sue. :D

Clive had purchased fifty new plastic 2watt LED bayonet coloured bulbs as replacements for the glass, filament 15w bulbs which we have been using on the Christmas lights for many years. We swapped fifty for the new bulbs to evaluate their suitability.
The string of Christmas lights were erected from the end of the canopy on platform two to the Bury Standard 4 Group shop were they are plugged into the electrical connection box.

We had one final brew and finished off most of the cakes, what was left went in the fridge.
A good Russel Hobbs microwave cooker is spare in our workshop if anyone would like one for their mess room let us know. :)

Back next week for more illuminating stories.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
