The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 12-08-2018

Post by asbibby »

:D All five intrepid electrical volunteers in today, Jonathan and Len completed the first task of the day, testing the fire alarm call points in The Trackside and Bury Bolton Street Station, everything worked satisfactorily and the results recorded.

Clive and John tested the Blue Button crossing buttons at Bury Bolton Street Station.

I went to the Bury Standard 4 Group shed with John to check out some components which are being manufactured for us to accommodate the fitting of two lamp heads for the lamp posts on platform two.
We did some measurements and modified the units accordingly in our workshop before returning them to the Standard 4 Group workshop for welding, thanks Stuart. :)

Jonathan was busy doing more PAT testing in the permanent way workshop testing an assortment of 110v & 240v electrical power tools. A number of these units required repairing and these were done by the team back in our own workshop then returned to Jonathan for PAT testing.
The results, identification and location of all the power tools are now logged on our computer. :D

We were blessed with an abundance of cakes today, four eclairs supplied by Sue and a cream & jam cake from ASDA supplied by John, with a great brew from BT trained tea maker, Len. 8)

A 110v grinder belonging to the BS4G was also repaired for the second time.

Next week we are hoping to start the lamp head refurbishment from Summerseat Station. 8)
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
