:) Another warm and sunny day today for the intrepid bunch of Electrical Volunteers, Jonathan, Len, John and myself, Clive attended a radio club event, first task after a swift brew was to check the fire alarm call points in The Trackside pub and Bury Bolton Street Station concourse.
All was satisfactory and the results were recorded. 8)

A start was then made on cleaning and checking all the 110v & 240v extension leads which belong to Baron Street works, replacement plugs and sockets were fitted for broken ones.
The extension leads and power tools will be PAT tested next week and returned to Baron Street.

Our ELR Chairman, Mike Kelly paid us a visit whilst we were working outside our workshop, a few photographs were taken, fame at last and recognition of all the hard work we undertake for our railway. :D

A big clean up was needed with our hands after cleaning all the leads and power tools which were covered in copious amounts of dirt, grease and oil, before lunch was taken.

I went up to the Bury Standard 4 Group workshop to see how the work was progressing on our engine, i was soon roped in to fit new five foot fluorescent tubes in the pit lights, not an easy job when you have to crawl underneath the engine to gain access to the pit.
Fortunately i was able to borrow a pair of overalls to complete the work as is not the cleanest of environments.
Two new tubes were fitted and the covers refitted, hey presto the lighting is now much better for the fitting of the numerous pipes to be connected underneath the locomotive. :)
It is all hands to the deck now that the overhauled boiler is now back in the frames, connecting all the various components, pipes etc. to enable us to get the locomotive ready for testing and trials, later this year.
If anyone would like to help us get the locomotive working on the ELR contact the BS4G CME on a Saturday or a Sunday. 8)

The power tools both 110v & 240v were repaired with new leads fitted and replacement plugs, some of the power tools require new bushes, these will be fitted next week.

More enlightening work next week from the Sunday Electrical Volunteers.
