The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 11-2-2018.

Post by asbibby »

:D A full team in today, Len, John, Clive, Jonathan and myself, after a brew and a chat with Simon the ELR electrician we did some maintenance and testing of the fire alarm call points at Bury Bolton Street Station.
The fire alarm call points in the storeroom and the gents toilets on platform two were refurbished as the test facilities on the call points failed to trip the fire alarm.
The repairs were logged and the test logged, next up was the testing of the fire alarm system in the booking hall at Bury Bolton Street Station. The tests were logged in the booking hall fire alarm logbook. 8)

We spoke to the manager of the Trackside and agreed a position for our large clock to be installed next week on the back wall of the bar. Simon will erect the clock on the wall during the week for us to finish wiring it and testing. :P
The manager also asked us to replace a light bulb in one of the light fittings in the bar which was done, once we had figured how to get at the bulb holder.

Lunch was then taken in our workshop with cream cakes provided by Sue and washed down with another brew. :D

It was brought to our attention that the light fitting in the gents toilet was not working, we changed the 4 pin D type fluorescent for a new LED fitting.

John and Clive the stripped down a newly purchased fan heater which had failed, the fault being a problem with the fan not working and causing the heat fuse to burn out. a replacement heat fuse will be fitted next week the heater will then be tested.

Another 4 pin D type fluorescent was changed for a replacement fluorescent in the shop in the booking hall.
along with yet another 4 pin D type fluorescent at the ticket barrier in the booking hall.

Last job of the day was to replace two bulbs in walkway outside of the Bury Standard 4 Group Shop on platform two at BBS. :)

Back next Sunday for a bit of clockwork. :P
