The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 25-06-2017.

Post by asbibby »

:) The Sunday Electrical Volunteers that turned up today, comprised of Clive, Jonathan, John and myself, Len was on a gig playing the ukulele with band members in Southport. :P

The first job after a brew was to re-assemble and electrically test the six lamp heads which had been painted over the last couple of weeks from Rawtenstall Station.

Clive had brought in some Nitromors paint stripper for the Smiths speedo regulator which we are refurbishing for the Standard 4 80097. The Nitromors was applied and left to do it's work. 8)

John had brought in some new bolts which required shortening, these are to fasten the cover onto the main body of the regulator. John had also found for us a new variable resistance to use in the regulator as the old one was kaput.
The components for use in the regulator will be assembled next week after some new brass screws and nuts are found.

We then had some lunch and a brew, no cake today, Shame. :(

The two lamp heads recovered from Rawtenstall Station last week were then stripped down, rubbed down with emery paper and treated with rust killer, ready for painting next week.

The regulator unit was then cleaned of Nitromors and rubbed down with coarse sandpaper ready for painting.

The workshop was then given a quick cleanup before we had a final brew and leaving for home. :)
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
