The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 04-06-2017.

8) Just three of us in today on the small engines weekend, John, Clive and myself, after a brew it was decided that we would go up to Rawtenstall Station to locate the fault on one of the station platform lights and to see to some of the lamp post access covers.

John had brought in a box full of different sizes of bolts and we had our battery drill and an assortment of metric and whitworth taps and dies to sort out the access covers on the lamp posts.
The access covers were seen to either by re-tapping the bolt holes and fitting new screws and using the dies to retap the screw threads on some of the screws.

The problem with the platform lamp which was not working turned out to be a connection problem, i.e. a trapped wire on the insulation instead of on the copper wire.

Lunch was taken in the coach cafe with tea provided by the lady in the cafe, we then collected up all our tools and caught the next train back to Bury Bolton Street Station. :)

The next task was to strip down the six lamp heads we had taken down for refurbishment from Rawtenstall Station.
The perspex globes were thoroughly cleaned and stored away after drying them, then the lamp heads were cleaned of all the spider mess ready for rubbing down and treating with rust preventative solution next week. 8)

With all the jobs completed with called it a day after having an Eccles cake washed down with a final brew. :D
