The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 19-3-2017.

:D A full team again on what was a very miserable day, constant rain, Len, John, Clive , Jonathan and myself.

We were inundated with cake today, John had brought in a jam sponge cake, Clive a Swiss jam roll and me a whisky fruit cake, an Aldi special.

We had an internet request from Keith Howarth to PAT test two pressure washers plus a water boiler which some kind person had left us via Roger Holdsworth.
The two pressure washers were done first, both passed with flying colours and were duly recorded and labelled up.
The water boiler was first cleaned inside and out, the inside having quite a bit of scalling, probably due to hard water usage, the boiler also passed PAT testing once a new 13 amp plug had been fitted to the mains lead.
This was returned to Roger and placed into the stock room for use.

A D type light fitting was reported flashing on and off in the booking hall, this was investigated and the D type 4 pin light removed, a replacement light will be fitted next week as we are out of stock on that particular lamp.

We had an early lunch after which we replaced a load of peculiar screws in the light fittings on the over bridge in Bury Bolton Street Station for standard phillips head screws.

Some green and white light fittings recovered from the Rawtenstall Buffers Stop pub refurbishment, they were cleaned up for further use elsewhere.

We had also been asked to look at a hot water heater in the guards office toilet block, this particular water heater is life expired and will be replaced with a spare one we found in our workshop next week.
A job for the full time electricians me thinks.

A final brew was had and the remainder of the cream and jam sponge cake demolished before packing up and going home.

The Swiss roll and whisky cake were put in our fridge for scoffing next week. 8)
