The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 19-02-2017.

Post by asbibby »

 On a wet Sunday of the spring diesel gala all five of us turned up, Clive, Jonathan, John, Len and myself.
We had planned to catch the train to Rawtenstall Station to refit a refurbished lamp head on the platform, but due to the inclement weather we put it off for another day. :)

We had reported to us a hi-bay light in the Carriage & Wagon shed was not illuminated, we sourced a replacement lamp but could not find the double extension ladder in order to change the lamp, another job to be done at a later date. :o

We did some investigation on the Smiths speedo generator, it seems that the magnet is not located correctly inside of the coil, we tried to strip a DMU unit to see how the magnet was positioned within the coil, but did not succeed yet in stripping it down.

A new 110v industrial plug was fitted to an angle grinder belonging to the bury standard 4 group and a new plug top fitted to an extension lead all done in our workshop. 8)

An electronically controlled water heater unit was then investigated, it appears that the control circuit board is faulty and will need to be replaced.

We had a early dart today as the weather was very dismal and with no cakes so it was off early, back next week for some more electrical shenanigans, with some cake hopefully. :P
