The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 15-01-2017.

Post by asbibby »

:) Today, Sunday was cold wet and windy for the intrepid trio of electrical volunteers, Jonathan, Clive and myself.
Jack and Len are still a bit poorly, so it is wise to stay out of this weather at present.

It was decided after a warming brew to get our equipment out and board the 10:20 train to Ramsbottom Station to dismantle the Christmas lights from underneath the canopy as the weather was a bit inclement.
We managed to take down the lights and pack them away before breaking for some lunch in the waiting room and another warming brew from the station staff.
It was still raining slightly so we bit the bullet and dismantled the rest of the Christmas lights suspended from the lamp posts on platform one.
It was then back to Bury Bolton Street Station to stow away the lights in our workshop. :P

On arrival back at BBS we were asked to check out the timer clock controlling the platform three/four lights, this we did resetting the time clock for the lights to come on at 16:00 hours and go off at 19:00 hours.
The other task we were asked to look at were the external wall heaters on platform two, apparently they were switching on and off on their own accord. The MCB's were switched off and Simon the full time electrician informed along with the staff of the Trackside.

On final job was to investigate a fellow volunteer's metal detector which appears to have an intermittent fault, this is being looked into by Clive at home. :?:

Back next week, let's hope the weather improves as the Christmas lights need to be dismantled at Heywood Station, if it is raining forget it!!!!!!

Congratulations to Lewis, Simon's electrical apprentice on the birth of his first child, a baby girl. :D
