The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 27-11-2016.

Post by asbibby »

:) Just the three of us in today, Clive was on dog minding duties, Len was fettling his car, leaving us with Jonathan, John and myself.

We retrieved the mobile tower scaffold and loaded all the gear we would need to do a Christmas light check at Rawtenstall Station. The 10:00 train was caught as this had a guards van capable of transporting the scaffold.

Simon the full time ELR electrician had bought us another hundred 15W light bulbs, we would need them as we replaced forty seven bulbs at Rawtenstall. Lunch was taken after we had changed about half of the blown lights in the unusual sunshine for November, it then turned very cold once the sun had disappeared whilst we replaced the rest of the blown bulbs.

The lady in the Buffer Stops provided us with a hot drink each and then we thawed out beside the roaring fire in the waiting room whilst waiting for our train back to Bury Bolton Street Station. :)

Back in our workshop we stored away all our gear and had a brew complete with what would have been a slice of chocolate cake but John forgot about it and left it at home, we will devour it next week with a bit of luck.

We will have to do the Christmas light check underneath the canopy at Ramsbottom Station next week and relocate the Christmas lights switch & socket at Rawtenstall Station to a more accessible location for the station staff.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
