The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 20-11-2016.

On the team today were, Jonathan, Len, Clive and myself, we had a brew in our workshop before getting all our gear ready for the trip up to Heywood Station.
The tasks today were to do a Christmas lights lamp check on the two strings of lights using the mobile tower scaffold, thirty nine bulbs were changed. :o

We then refitted the station lamp head nearest the water tower which has now been converted to a LED 10w bulb, the floodlight lighting up the path to Green Lane crossing proved difficult to dismantle so the replacement LED floodlight will be fitted at a later date.

Lunch was then taken in the waiting room along with a brew provided by the Station master.

The final job at Heywood was to replace the bulkhead light bulbs lighting up the ramp at the rear of the Station buildings, these were replaced with LED bulbs. :)

The next train was then caught back to Bury Bolton Street Station, all our gear stowed away and a final brew and our Victoria sponge cake scoffed which had been in our fridge for a fortnight. It tasted fine apart from being a bit chilled. :P

Next week is the start of the Santa Specials so the first job will be to take the first train up to Rawtenstall Station to connect up the Christmas lights and to then do a lamp check.

A lamp check will also be done at Ramsbottom under the canopy, and then onto platform two at Bury Bolton Street Station, more spare Christmas bulbs will be needed me thinks. 8)

We managed to strip down the old floodlight from Heywood Station back in our workshop utilising our vice and a big stillson wrench. A new conduit box was drilled and fitted to the newLED floodlight ready for reinstalling at Heywood Station in the next couple of weeks. :P

Back next week, T.T.F.N.
