The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 06-11-2016.

Post by asbibby »

:D Today i was joined by Len, Jonathan and John who was welcomed back after his recent ill health, Clive was at home with his son who was paying a visit.

We had cake galore, i brought in six chocolate slices and both John and Len provided us with one sponge cake and one chocolate sponge cake, we decided to put one in the fridge for next week.

The tasks for today was to carry on installing the Christmas lights at Ramsbottom and Bury Bolton Street Stations, we loaded all our gear and mobile tower scaffold onto the train and installed the two strings of lights at Ramsbottom Station.
A lamp check was also done, all the platform lights were lit OK, but we will have to return to replace blown bulbs in the Christmas lights.
Lunch was taken in the waiting room with tea provided to us all by the station staff, thank you.

The train was caught back to Bury Bolton Street station and back to our workshop to collect the Christmas lights for platform two, these were erected and tested OK.

Max the station master asked us to check out the lights in the ladies toilets on platform 2, we sourced some spare D type bulbs and set about testing, it turned out to be two faulty light fittings which have been reported to the full time electrician for replacement during the week.
Some have already been replaced with LED replacement fittings, which are more efficient.

It was then back to the warmth of our workshop for a brew and a piece of chocolate cake each. MMMmmmm.

It will be the turn of Rawtenstall station next Sunday or a return trip to Heywood Station to complete more lamp replacement.
