The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 5-6-2016.

Post by asbibby »

:D A full team was out today, Jonathan, John, Len, Clive and myself, the fire alarm call points were checked out first in the Trackside and Bury Bolton Street station, all was well and the findings recorded.

Simon the full time ELR electrician asked us to see if we could carry on with the conversion of the fluorescent tubes to LED tubes in the carriage & wagon shed.
We are going to replace the high bay lighting with five foot LED lighting, this will involve purchasing 160 metres of two inch by two inch steel trunking and attaching the trunking to the roof trusses.
The trunking will be ordered when Simon gets back from holiday.
The other fluorescent lighting in the carriage & wagon shed will have to be replaced with complete new units once we can gain access to replace them, which is going to prove difficult when carriages are being worked on all the time.

With there not be much else to do and the weather being scorching we had a brew and a piece of lemon cake and watch the world go by for an hour or so. 8)
