The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 29-5-2016.

8) It was the Forties weekend today, i have never seen the stations so packed out with people since the Flying Scotsman running in week. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the event in glorious sunshine for a change.

I was joined by Clive and John, Len was on duty with the Westhoughton George Forby Appreciation band playing banjo and singing in Bury Transport Museum.

The first job of the day was to change a light in the ladies toilet on platform two, this was reported to us by the station staff.

After a brew we obtained from our stock twelve new LED six foot tubes along with some tools and made our way down to the woodworking shop to carry on with the job we started last week.
We rewired and changed the remaining six double light fittings to LED tubes and then retired back to our workshop for some lunch and to sample a raspberry cake brought in by John, the other cake we saved for next week in our newly installed fridge.

After lunch we decided that we would go for a ride up the line to Rawtenstall to soak up some of the atmosphere of the weekend. :D
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
