The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 18-1-2015.

 Jonathan was the first man in today on a bitterly cold morning, the kettle was soon boiling for a brew before we were joined by Clive and John. Len must have looked out of the bedroom window and thought, Mmmmm back to bed!

First job after the warming brew was to check the fire alarm call points in The Trackside and Bury Bolton Street concourse, the call point testing proved OK and the results were logged.

We promised last week that we would replace the faulty fluorescent at the bottom of the corridor in The ELRPS building, this was duly done and tested.

On the way back we called into the Carriage & Wagon workshop to drill out two brass screws in some carriage plug shells due for refurbishment using their pillar drill.

Clive and John then repaired the fluorescent from the ELRPS building by replacing the electronic unit for a spare unit we had, this was tested with a new tube and starter and put into our stores.

We then decided to catch the next train up to Rawtenstall to see if we could find the missing top piece from our mobile tower scaffold which was last used doing some work on the water tower by the P.W. gang. We could not locate it anywhere, does anyone know were it is?
It is made from aluminum tubing, about one metre high and shaped like a rugby goal post with a top rail, otherwise i shall have to purchase a new replacement part from Youngman Boss at a considerable cost.
It was all complete the last time we used it before storing it away in the beer cellar.

Back in our workshop we stripped the old paint from the carriage plugs we had previously worked on and painted them ready for reassembling next week.

The snow had started falling again so we finished off the work, tidied up the workshop and made a early dart, back next week. 8)
