The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 11-1-2015.

8) Boy was it cold today, in the gang on Sunday were John, Jonathan, Len and myself, Clive was still recovering from his efforts renovating his future new home "The Ponderosa" in the outbacks of Wigan.
Anyone wishing to help Clive with his tasks form an orderly queue!

After a brew to warm us all up, the fire alarm call points were checked out and the findings recorded in the log books by Len and Jonathan.

We then loaded the containers for the Christmas lights, a big stepladder and some tools along with a trolley and caught the train up to Heywood Station to recover the lights.
The lights took us about an hour to take down and pack into their containers until next Christmas, just has we finished a train pulled in conveniently, to take us back to Bury Bolton Street and the warmth of our workshop.

Lunch was then taken before taking down the Christmas lights on platform two at BBS, these again were packed up and returned to our workshop for storage. :)

The Bury Bolton Street Station staff asked us to check out the electrics in their mess room as a circuit breaker keep tripping out, the problem is that the consumer unit only has three ways instead of at least four ways. When it is cold and a convector heater is on and someone comes in to make a brew the 13A socket breaker trips on overload.
A five way consumer unit will have to be fitted, way one will be for the lights, way two will be for the 13A sockets, way three will be a heating circuit, way four will be the back office and way five will be a spare way.
Hopefully, Simon the full time electrician will do this job in-time for next weekend. 8)

A suitable replacement for a fluorescent five foot fitting in the corridor of " Tate Towers" was sourced and tested, this will be fitted next week, all being well. :P

We finished the day off with another brew and a piece of Christmas cake John had brought in for us to scoff, Mmmmm.

With that, we all piled into our respected jam jars and tootled off back home, see you all next week at the steam gala, yesssss.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
