The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 04-1-2015.

Post by asbibby »

:D Jonathan was in our workshop again on Saturday painting light fittings, carriage plug and covers, the light fittings will have new electrical innards fitted in the next few weeks.

Jonathan and Len went off to do the usual fire alarm call point checks in The Trackside and the Station Concourse, all worked OK and the log books were filled in.

On Sunday the team consisted of Len, John, Jonathan and myself after a brew we loaded the containers which we keep the Christmas lights in, obtained a suitable tall step ladder, some tools and loaded them all onto a trolley to recover the Christmas lights from Ramsbottom Station and Rawtenstall Station.
The Bubble car took us to Ramsbottom Station where the trolley and all our equipment was unloaded.
The two strings of lights were recovered from Ramsbottom first and lunch was then taken in the warm waiting room whilst we waited for the next train to Rawtenstall.

We then boarded the 12:15 train with our ladder and the containers holding the lights we had previously recovered and were soon on our way to Rawtenstall. The Christmas lights were quickly recovered and packed away in the container so as to catch the same train back to bury Bolton Street Station.

Our thanks to the Station staff at Ramsbottom Station who kindly loaded our trolley onto the Bubble car for us to collect back at Bury Bolton Street Station. :D

Once back at Bury Bolton Street Station we unloaded all the equipment and recovered the trolley from the Bubble car.

We had been asked to have a look at one of the light fittings in the ELRPS building at Baron Street, the problem seems to be the unit itself which requires changing, this will be done next week.

We then made our way back to our workshop for a final brew before leaving for home.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
