The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 28-12-2014.

:) Jonathan came in on Saturday to carry on with the work of refurbishing the ex. Nuneaton Station lamp heads which we have been given.

On Sunday Jonathan was in first with the kettle nicely boiled we were joined by Clive and John, Len sent in a text saying that he would not make it in today, seeing that he had only just got out of bed!

The fire alarm call points were checked after the Christmas Santa's have now been completed, all was well in the Trackside and the Bury Bolton Street concourse and the log books duly filled in.

With the weather being a bit inclement we decided to stay in our workshop, where it is relatively warm and do some work on the many parts that are in need of repair on the railway.
We repaired the fibreglass top of one of the ex. Nuneaton lamp head fittings with some fibreglass matting and epoxy resin and then rubbed down the other two fibreglass tops ready for repainting in grey next week or so.

Clive and John stripped the paint off some carriage plugs and covers, again ready for painting this particular job never seems to have an end to it.

lunch was taken in the workshop washed down with copious amounts of tea and some Christmas cake slices that John had brought in for us all to sample.

One of our spare station canopy light fittings had been damaged with two end caps broken, replacement fluorescent end caps were fitted from our spares box, the fitting was then tested and the external cover refitted.

With one final brew and the last of the Christmas cake polished off we decided on an early dart, back next year 2015.
A happy New Year to everyone on the East Lancashire Railway.
