The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 21-9-2014.

Post by asbibby »

:D All five Electrical Department volunteers turned up again on Sunday, Clive, John, Jonathan, Len and myself, it was decided that the main job today would be to install the trunking lids on the electrical trunking at Bury Bolton Street Station.

Jonathan and Len did the usual checks on the fire alarm call point systems in the Trackside and BBS Concourse, all worked satisfactorily and the findings were recorded.

Clive put the finishing touches to the Halloween witches cauldron.

The rest of us recovered the painted trunking lids and some extendable ladders and our tools, a brew was taken before going across to platform three/four.

We barriered off the working area with the help of Max and some red and white marker tape, we then set about removing the debris from when the Station roof was restored, this amounted to one large bin bag full of bird nests and chipboard bits and pieces.
We then measured up the trunking lids for fitting above the steps leading down to the platforms, after measuring and cutting these were fitted satisfactorily.
The trunking lids were then fitted all the way down platform three up to the Tardis, we then called a break and had some lunch.

After lunch we continued fitting the trunking lids along platform four from the Tardis back down to the platform steps, with half of the lids now fitted we called it a day after having a final brew and a piece of date and walnut cake each.

Next week we hope to finish off the job after fitting the dual electrical/date trunking way back in 2010, some things take a little longer to do on the railway.
