The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 7-9-2014.

Post by asbibby »

:) Happy days, the forecast for Sunday was wall to wall sunshine and were not disappointed.
I was joined by Jonathan, Len, Clive and John in our workshop for our usual early brew, Clive wanted to crack the fluttering of the silky material used in the fire cauldron for the Halloween train.
A funnel shaped was eventually decided as the best of the designs to imitate the flames from the cauldron.

Len & Jonathan went off to do the fire alarm call point checks in the Trackside and Bury Bolton Street station, everything worked OK and the findings were logged.

The trolley was then loaded up with all our tools, bulkhead light fittings, two lengths of conduit, various conduit components, drill and transformer, plus our conduit clamp stand. We caught the next train to Ramsbottom station, unloaded all our gear and started to install the conduit, clamps and cable from the nearest lamp post to the waiting shelter on platform two.

Lunch was taken in the glorious sunshine at Ramsbottom washed down with tea kindly provided by the Station stall at Rammy.

The bulkhead light fittings were then drilled and screwed to the back wall of the waiting shelter, we will be back next week at Ramsbottom to complete the job.

It was then back on board the train for the trip back to our workshop in BBS for a final brew before going home.
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
