The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 20-07-2014.

Post by asbibby »

:D A full compliment of electrical volunteers turned up today, Clive, John, Jonathan, Len and myself back from holiday in sunny or should i say misty Fort Billy Scotland.

Anyone who attended the Raise the Roof 3 concert on Friday or Saturday should have noticed that the area down to the 26B shop was floodlit to make it much safer for all the revelers, we finished the job off the previous week after noticing last year it was dark in that particular area.

As usual the first job was to test the fire alarm call points, all were checked to be working OK, we decided after a swift brew what would be the order of the day.

We got all our tool kit together along with a 110v drill, 110v transformer and some refurbished bulkhead light fittings and boarded the train up to Rawtenstall Station.
The idea was to prepare the passenger shelter at Rawtenstall Station with light fittings and conduit ready for us to wire up to the station lighting next week.
We needed to drill into the nearest lamp post which was only a couple of feet away from the shelter and fit a length of conduit into the base of the lamp post, secure the conduit to the platform floor with conduit clamps.
We then drilled the back of the shelter to accommodate the two bulk head light fittings, once this was completed we had some lunch before catching the train back to our workshop in Bury Bolton Street.

A note was left for Simon to order us some more material for us to finish off the Rawtenstall Station lighting job and then to start the Ramsbottom Station shelter lighting.

After a brew and some of Mr. Kiplings best we all retired for the day, see you all next week. 8)
