The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 15-12-2013.

Post by asbibby »

:D Jonathan came in on the Saturday to do some more work on the carriage plugs, he recovered four plug leads, covers and pattresses from a carriage on the outside road of the C & W shed, this carriage is in for substantial metalwork repairs.
The leads were taken back to the workshop and will be stripped, cleaned and painted.

On Sunday i was joined by Jonathan, Len, Clive and John, after the Christmas card distributions we had a brew before deciding what was going to be the order of the day.
It was decided to go down to the ELRPS building at Baron Street to replace a D type electrical light fitting, the old fitting was a four pin D type and this was replaced with a two pin fitting which is the normal fitting used on the railway.
In the mess room one of the five foot fluorescent tubes was not working so Jonathan went back in his car to our workshop to pick up some five foot tubes, one was replaced and the other two left as spares as the ones left are going a bit black at the ends.

Lunch was then taken with some chocolate cake supplied by John, some electrical light fittings were then refurbished with recovered ballast and fluorescent tubes.

I then left to go and watch the local derby Wigan v Bolton at The DW Stadium, Wigan Athletic 3 Bolton Wanderers 2 a first home win for the new Wigan manager Uve Rosler. :D
Deep in the heart of Swinetown.
