There are various stories that 22 has gone on hire to gbrf to work in the north east on freights. Can anyone confirm full details. If so this will be one of the biggest events in diesel preservation :D

Indeed it does seem true, see: http://royalscotsgrey.wordpress.com/201 ... res-55022/
Well done to Martin and everyone involved in getting the work for the loco, lets hope it provides yet more funds to help with all their projects.

Only for the preservationists this Deltic would have been broken up years ago and now its back in revenue earning services, Its quite amazing

wow,

congrats to the 22 team

I take it that it was less costly to use the running deltic than to demothball one of the stored type 5s

Great news for RSG :D

I hope to catch it up here when I have some time off work in a couple of weeks time :D

Will it be D9016 on its own for the Easter weekend now?

Best Regards

No, Martin assures us that RSG will be back on ELR metals for the Easter weekend, and available for other existing mainline commitments - see http://royalscotsgrey.wordpress.com/

I was speaking to Jonny Stevenson yesterday at BBS, he said that they had just sent RSG up to the North East. It's a major piece of news and the team should be congratulated on securing the work and getting the engine ready in such a short time.

Thank you all for your kind words. I will make sure they are passed onto the rest of the team.

I would like to thank all the people who helped us get off ELR metals during the little locos weekend.

Cheers,
Jonny...
