44871

Post by Ian Riley »

44871 is away on it's travels a week earlier than originally anticipated.

She leaves this Friday for Bristol to deputise for 'Sir Lamiel' which is now not available for the southern section of R.T.C's GB111 railtour.

Looking forward to sampling 44871 from Totnes - Bristol (Day 2), shame it's not from Penzance now due to the possible industrial action

Also again on Day 3 from Bristol to Preston, both days double headed with 70013 Oliver Cromwell.

Before 44871 + 45407 on Day 5 Glasgow - Stranraer and return. Two ELR locos on a journey a long way away from home 8)

Looking forward to what should be the holiday of a lifetime and 9 days of steam with 7 different locos :D :D

44871 & 45407 were fantastic double heading to Stranraer on Day 5

A fabulous sight and thanks to Mr Riley for getting 45407 overhauled so quickly to make an appearance - definately worthwhile :D

44871 also performed well double headed with 70013 Oliver Cromwell from Plymouth to Bristol and then the following day from Bristol to Preston

A cracking trip with fantastic locos and glorious weather to boot 8) 8)

Presume that's after it's railtour on Sat from Cleethorpes to Chester and return to Sheffield with RTC

It's certainly putting in the miles since it's overhaul

Good to see it having plenty of work
