bumping

Post by marflow »

I seem to have "bumped" a message in the electrical forum. How do I un-bump it? And what's the purpose of bumping?

Doubt that you moved the topic but more likely that one of the admin team moved it as it is an electrical discussion.

No admin has commented yet but they will probably come clean later this evening.

You did indeed manage to bump it =] (it says so at the bottom of the posts if no ones spotted it  )

Bumping a topic is just moving it up the list of topics in the subforum, they are chronologically in order of last post made. If a poster wants to make his topic more visible to other users, after a while he can 'bump' it up to the top of the list again. The button can be found at the very bottom left of the page, near the board index button.
How do you unbump it? You can't, it will just sink down the list over time.

Hope thats helpful

Thanks Mark. I hadn't realised that Bumping meant promoting the thread in the list. I had assumed it moved to a different topic.
