Re: The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 28-10-2018.

Re Platform 3/4 drum clock. Are both sides 2 minutes slow?
Annoyed about that as I so-called checked on the BST to GMT change over.

The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 30-09-2018.

Myself and Alan were off today. Only Jonathan, Len and John in. From what I hear: They fixed the fire alarm in The Trackside (I had given John 2 new Lead/Acid batteries earlier in the week on the assumption this would be the problem). Job solved when they remembered to put the fuse back in! Work at ...

The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 09-09-2018

Just 3 of us today; Jack, Jonathan and myself. First job, check the fire alarms at Trackside and booking hall. All OK and recorded. Brew, and a quick read of the ELRPS monthly/6 weekly meeting minutes. Concerning. We brought the 5 lamp-heads (from Summerseat) down from the rooftops in the undercroft...

Re: The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 29-07-2018.

Really, please credit us with a modicum of common sense. What we actually do is test call point one. Then miss one and test call point three. Then, we miss a week or two and wait for someone to ask which call point will be tested next!

The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 24/06/2018

Jonathan, Jack, Len and myself, Clive today. Fire alarms in The Trackside and main station building were checked as per usual. A charging cable had got seared at the far end of platform 3. So the bad piece was excised and all made good. Caught the diesel up to Ramsbottom and took down the last four ...

The Electrical Volunteer's Report Sunday 13/05/2018

Jonathan, John and myself today. Repaired: A couple of water boilers. A grinder. Some of the Christmas lights ready for next year. A flu light in 26B. Didn't repair the farthest lamp standard on platform 3/4 as it was too busy. Flying Scotsman! Talking of which, why were we not on the Northwest news...

Re: The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 25-3-2018.

Rather have gherkins, pickled onions and mustard. The thickness of the disabled toilet wall is quite in line with the quip "Built like a brick sh*thouse" By the way, it's not the toilet that's disabled; but the intended users! Why has it been necessary to fit bollards at the side of the st...

Quite the contrary. I never seem to get to finish my brew. Someone or something always seems to come along to divert my attention (easy) and I forget about it. That's why the cup(s) get so stained. Left over tea in 'em.

Re: The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 25-2-2018.

Sadly, our Ray Butcher clock is playing up. Suspect dirt in the cogs. As this is an original "Bury Made" clock, we feel it's worth all the effort to gerrit going. It's been going for six years down at Baron Street (without correction) so why has moving it caused it problems? It uses the sa...

Re: The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 31-12-2017.

I'm thinking a dry mix of sand and cement. It'll soon get damp and set in the bottom of the lamp. I'll see if we can get some creosote down first.

Re: The Electrical Volunteers Report Sunday 16-12-2017.

Will have to go easy on't cake next year! Or there won't be room in our little workshop. The re-engineered clock at Rammy seems to be doing alright. I'd be grateful if any of the Rammy staff have effected any adjustment to it that they let me know so I can take that into account when rating. Regardi...
