Think someone in a planning office is having fun here:- 40145 out - a very strange route to Derby via Doncaster picking up 56006 at Derby, then another long way round via Burton picking up 47192/712 at Crewe. There would have been another one, but a move to Butterley and return with 345 that was due on Thursday has been postponed for a week.

No, the ro or other appointed would have to collect the token from Bury south on arrival of the incoming train from heywood, and then either use a loco as taxi or more probably go up by car to operate Hopwood gf with said token and sort out green lane crossing. A 40 on 'the branch' again...........(well nearly). All this to turn the stock so that it faces the same way on its return as it did going out - now if we'd ever though thought of requesting this as a mini-tour think how many we could have got on it...........................
