no matter where you stand there, there is always a chance that a tram will be in your way just at the vital moment given that there are now 4 metrolink lines going through cornbrook ... I don't fancy my chances of ever getting a vital shot there ... then again, since the only places passenger trains...

2 problems with cornbrook ...

1) I was there today and everytime a train passed by, a tram arrived and blocked my view

2) the train is routed via Bolton, so would go via the windsor curves up towards Salford Cresent and not go near Cornbrook

timing wise they are planning for p'dilly

15 mins for stocky to p'dilly ... it'd take at more like 30 mins to get into victoria.

also looks like no water stops until Preston

it'd be a pain to photgraph at piccadilly, I can't imagine them letting a bunch of photographers onto P13/14 in the rush hour, and it'll be coming through on the far side from all the other platforms

and they won't open up the barriers at oxford road

it'd make a great pic on the bridge on oxford road ... but may have to resort to one of the car parks above the line just to make sure of getting a shot

Tin Bath Extra

The Pair of Black 5s were looking gleeming today

They sertainly made their presence known, going up Hunts Bank from Victoria the whole back became one giant white cloud. I went to the car park above Vic to get shots of them climbing the bank, but could hardly see the locos !

1st time around, it may have been a min or two late into Vic, but overshot the platform and ended up parked under the footbridge. It only stayed for 2 mins or so, by the time I'd got a lift up to the arena car park, it was already a fair way up the bank it arrived about 15-20 mins early at its 2nd t...

givent he amount of noise that the Scot was making leaving vic, thre was no way that could have been a stealthy anything.

Looks like the passengers were taken back via sprinters to wigan and from there, who knows
