Although I was not on the tour I can confirm that No.4 traction motor has suffered a flashover. Info from Lee Kenny on the loco not speculation and rumour from the net.

The East Lancs Explorer

The above tour will be running from Rawtenstall to Cambridge featuring ELR flagship loco 40145 throughout, also a possible mini tour to Stanstead Airport should there be sufficient support. Please follow this link for the booking form: http://www.cfps.co.uk/cambridgenonmembers.pdf

Let us hope that those on the board can do what ever it takes to get more inbound charters.!
Fully agree with you Steve.

Tour Dates for 40145

May 15th / 16th Crewe to West country destinations tour also features D1015. June 12th BLS Tour of various branch lines including a run onto and off our railway. 40145 was specifically requested for this tour due to it's links to the ELR having now been based here for longer than it ran for BR! Not sure if its relevant to discuss mainline activities of non ELR based loco's though. The aim there was to allow for discussion of tours from the ELR etc Great Idea, but when was the last mainline tour TO or FROM the ELR?? Last ones I remember were from rawtenstall to blackpool about 4 years back...

Watch this space for an announcement regarding 2 very relevant railtours, shame if such announcements got lost within irrelevant information.

Why not a compromise - leave this section for relevant workings and have a sub section within the general section for non-elr mainline workings?

Cotton Mill is a mainline working passing through East Lancashire. But NOT operating over the metals of the ELR. Hence it is in the 'Mainline' section Which states the following on the index page: "Details of ELR related charters, tours etc. using both steam and diesel loco's." fairly sel...

Nice to see a positive outward looking attitude - as usual It's not really that to be fair. There's more than enough forums to discuss 46115, 6233, or the Winklybunion Valley Railway's next steam gala - and we all know where to find 'em. This forum was set up to be an ELR discussion area for all an...

Steve - This forum is about the ELR and loco's based there NOT WCRC or the RTC.

There are plenty of other internet sites covering the general charter scene both Diesel and Steam.

The non ELR stuff appearing on here dilutes the important stuff IMHO.

What has this thread got to do with the ELR??
